The Finnish SBS Kings Wins the Men’s Category    (21. 8. 2009, Prokop Vantuch)
The tight 2:1 victory was enough for the team SBS Kings to win the gold medals in men’s category. Although the floorball players from the second Finnish division were losing to Sparta Prague 0:1, they managed to turn the score around and defend the one-goal lead.

Sparta scored in the sixth minute of the final game already with Filip Pacan’s goal. The Finns then equalized with a goal by Markus Olkkonen. The game-winning goal then came in the thirty-second minute when Olkkonen sent an accurate pass in front of Sparta’s goal and unattended Jarkko Mäki scored.

“It was by far our toughest game at the tournament and we also had a bit of luck. I’m very happy. It’s my first visit to Prague and I’ve never won such a big tournament,” SBS Kings’ goalie Kimi Jääskeläinen, who was also awarded the prize for the best goalie of the Chance Czech Open, smiled with satisfaction.

“I’ve never been awarded such a prize. I’m very happy and also tired, because we didn't have a backup goalie at this tournament,” Jääskeläinen revealed.

The prize for the best player of the men’s tournament was won by David Bouša from the silver team Sparta Prague. The best scorer was Rickard Hofgren from the Swedish team Guldhedens IK.
